Agree.

However, a good percentage of the public buys based on alledged features and numerical specs rather than audible sonic quality.

One of my favorites is CD sampling rates. First there was 1X, then 2X, then 4X, then 8X. Manufacturers put sampling rate specs right up front even though few people know what sampling is let alone can hear the difference.

It's like having a "24 valve" emblem on your car. Big deal. Just about every engine made has 4 valves/cyl. But it still sells cars.
