Too much champagne for Lucas? I've was aware of this since before the technology was officially announced and I'm sure most of the regulars of this forum also know that Surround Centre isn't discretely encoded for theatrical playback. The addition of a Dolby 3 Stereo matrix to the rear channels of a Dolby Digital is valid, to a point, but will not give accurate results if out-of-phase information is also encoded into Sr and Sl which is designed to be re-routed back to the side loudspeakers (in theatres) or the rear channels in the home. For that one will need EX encoding within THX products.
