I'm pretty sure you can. My Xantech I/R repeater will control my DC-1 so it should work fine with your MC-1. Note that you will have to "cover" the I/R receiver on the MC-1 because it's still active when you use the rear jack. If it "sees" a signal on both it'll get confused.
