I say adjust it to your liking. I found that to get satisfying envelopment, I have to run the surrounds (I also run 7 ch) 8 dB above cal levels.

This also gives you the option of adjusting simply by moving F/R balance toward F on the remote (at least on the DC-1 v2), without affecting sub balance;
if you tried this by cal levels and moving balance toward R, it's not the same because front is cut without cutting the sub level.
