>>>1)Are you satified with the performance of the MC-1?

YES :)!

>>>2)For those who traded up from a DC-1. In your experience has it been a worthwhile upgrade? Sonic benefit cearly worth the added cost ($2,500)?

absolutely yes. For me the big problem with the dc-1 was its kind of "compressed" sound when playing music when compared with other pre/pros- like proceed or ead, etc. I really prefer to listen to music in 2 channel mode, and from playing with it for a few weeks now Id say that in any mode, including and especially 2 channel, its a major imporvement for music. on movies, there is an improvement but its more subtle- however it is noticeable and Im totally happy with the upgrade.

>>>3)Any major dissapointments? If you had known of these problems ahead of time, would you have traded up to an MC-1?

Nothing major but there are a few minor things. Nothing here would cause me not to make the upgrade though. first off, the "cool blue display" is harder to read even at 100% brightness. second, the "lexicon" doesnt light up and to me that is a disappointment. Hey, Lexicon if you change this, you have to give us early mc-1 owners a chance to get the glowing Lex! :) also, while I like the remote better overall, for setup its not quite as good as the up down select and done buttons are all on one big pad and sometimes Ill hit select or done but it doesnt take- no big deal, but in that respect the other remote was better. The mc-1 also gave me an error once, and in order to clear it I had to turn it totally off, and I lost my settings :(. One last one, the bass enhance in dts doesnt enhance bass, it shifts the soundstage to the right?! thats fine with me since in my setup the bass enhance on 5.1 stuff eliminates bass!

>>>4)Has there been any signal locking problems or other proplems you have experienced that are frequent enough to "get under your skin"?

Nope :). I thought I heard popping when it was brand new, but I could never duplicate it. Aside from that error message, Ive had nothing but pleasure with the mc-1.

>>>5)Do you recommend the MC-1?
yes.
