Provided your rears aren't right next to your sides, all manner of placement options can be accommodated using the Lexicon's time alignment. That said, I tend to favour rears positioned approximately a half to two-thirds the distance behind your sides of the distance between sides and front loudspeakers. Perhaps you should also address the positioning of your side loudspeakers a little, 8ft above the listening position is probably a tad too high.
