If you do not want to cut up the cable that came with your MC-1, you can go to Radio Shack and buy a Din to Din 5 wire cable harness (42-2151, 6ft long, $4.99, I believe this is the correct one), take yours with you for comparison, and just cut the wire going to pin 3. That should do it.
