MC-1 User Survey
Posted by anthony [IP: 38.228.47.4] on June 01, 1999 at 14:38:19 In Reply to: MC-1 User Survey posted by Gary Thompson on May 29, 1999 at 19:41:41: I am very satisfied with the MC1.I am one of the first owners(it was released Monday March 1st and it was in my home and hooked up that Friday March 5th after trading in my fully loaded DC1).Sonically it is superior to the DC1 for both music and home theatre.I've read some of the reports of "the lock"problem which I never expierenced for the few months playing with the processor(for LD/DVD/CD).Not until just this past weekend.I put on the "TITANIC"LD in AC3 using my PIONEER ELITE LD PLAYER CLD99 which is connected to DIGITAL COAXIAL INPUT 1(I have ofcause the LEXICON LDD1 in between the units).I have my LD input set up for FX EFFECT:AUTOMATIC,PCM EFFECT:LOGIC 7,AC3 EFFECT:5.1 LOGIC 7 and DTS EFFECT:DTS LOGIC 7.As soon as I loaded the LD and hit PLAY the MC1 Display read LOGIC 7 - NO AUDIO,never locking into the digital source.After trying to figure out what happened-turning the unit OFF(both in the front and in the back)it still couldn't lock onto the digital source.The funny thing is I've played this LD before with the MC1 and never had a problem with it.This was the "second time I was viewing this movie.After some delay the digital source did lock and the display read 5.1 LOGIC 7 just as I set it up.The next strange thing that happened was in the "middle"of a scene I noticed the sound had "stopped"for a few minutes(the display reading LOGIC 7-NO AUDIO)and then the sound returned - the display reading 5.1 LOGIC 7.Since then I've had no problem.It just happened these two times and I can't seem to duplicate the problem anymore.I am sure LEXICON will figure this problem out-it should not be considered in determining your purchase of an all around great unit - the MC1.
