Plus the differnce in price isn't all that great (at least in the U.S.)--since you're investing in the MC-1/Bryston caliber of equipment, why short change yourself with speakers that won't reveal what the rest of your system is capable of? The Audiocenter 2 is a much better match for them and is well worth waiting for (I really disliked the AC1 compared to the 2.9s in phantom mode--if you get the 2.9s, hold off the center until you can get a good one. This is important for more than just movies--the directional steering in the MC-1's music modes makes extensive use of the center channel. You might think you prefer two-channel, but surround modes are seductive and wouldn't you like to keep your options open? I assume you're thinking of the HDP-2s for sides. They would be fine except their LF extension isn't going to let you take full advantage of the Bass Enhance feature (check previous posts here and in the archives on this subject, especially Andre's posts). Bass Enhance really needs sides that go down to 40 Hz, and full-range is even better. If you want those dipole sides, you might start thinking about adding a pair of small subs down the road. See how easy it is for me to spend your money ;) Good luck,
