DC-2 Bass setting for Home Theater?

Using Mozilla/4.03 [en] (Win95; U):

I am new to my DC-2, and love it already, but I do have a question concerning bass settings. I am in logic 7 mode with 2 subs, and I am very happy with the sound in general, but as I was flipping thru the DC-2 menus I notice that the bass and treble setting are set to zero! Is this the normal setting if you want to get the most accurate bass sound from the movie? If I change my setting on the bass to a higher setting, is it now no longer sounding the way it was intended to sound originally?
I would like my movies to sound as accurate as possible to the original track, and I was not sure if increasing the bass setting to a higher setting what change that.
