I frankly don't much care whether I can get 24/96 at this time given the amount of product that exists for it. I have a different problem: total lack of space. Presently I have a Pioneer Elite CLD-99 LD player and I have so little room that the only DVD player I can fit into my equipment stack is a Panasonic L-10. I'd like to upgrade to a better DVD (and my wife would like to watch DVDs when I take the L-10 away when I go on the road), so the only solution is to get a player that can do both LD and DVD. So far, I haven't been much impressed with either the Pioneer Elite DVL-91 or the Pioneer DVL-909 combo players. The Theta Voyager looked pretty good, but its LD performance, to my eye, was only equally as good as my current CLD-99 (which cost 1/5 the price of the Voyager), so I nixed it. But I'm still in the market for a high-end combo unit. Were any of the units you cited LD/DVD combo units?
