I'm not on any kind of deadline and would very much appreciate hearing your thoughts. There have been 2 reviews of the Theta Voyager in the a/v press: The Perfect Vision (who said it was one of the best sounding CD transports they'd ever reviewed but thought it had mediocre video performance) and FI (who said that it was the best video transport ever and the first to make DVDs watchable as well as avoiding "digital blackness" an alleged flaw in digital audio performance which makes the silences in CD playback too quiet -- I mention this last only because this same quality, which FI seems to feel is a deficiency, was touted in another thread as something that made Mark Levinson equipment sound superior to Lexicon -- go figure).

Anyway, both of these assessements sound too tweako for me to give much creedence to, though I did audition the unit myself and had the same ambivalence to its video performance that TPV had.
