Bare Wire Trigger

I bought the cable you described at Rat Shak as well, although my cable was made with the soldered bare wires at one end (no stripping necessary). My amp manual described which part of the mini plug should be positive and which one should be negative (shaft or tip of mini plug). I could tell by looking at the bare wire end of the cable which wire was attached to the tip (center wire) and which was attached to the shaft (outer wire) of the mini plug. I folded over the tips of the soldered bare wires so that they weren't too long. I then placed the wire which should be positive into the hole marked PGM and the wire which should be negative into the hole marked GND (the hole right next to the hole marked PGM is the ground). Let me describe the trigger assembly real quick. The four screw holes are on the top of it (a screw driver can be placed straight down into these holes). The four holes which aim out the back of the MC1 trigger assembly are where the wire should be placed. The hole at the far left is the PGM (Programed) trigger, the hole on the far right of the assemble is the PWR (Powered) trigger, and the two holes in the middle of the assembly are both GND (grounds). It is my understanding that if you place your amp's positive lead in the PGM hole and your amp's ground (-) lead in the GND hole that your amp will then be turned on whenever the MC1's selected source is set to Enable trigger (see manual). This is how my setup works. If you place your amp's positive lead in the PWR hole and your amp's ground (-) in the GND hole then your amp will be kicked on anytime the MC1 is turned on. I never removed the screws. I just placed my wire in the hole and then turned the screw down (no loosening of the screw was necessary to originally place the wire). I would not consider popping off the trigger assembly. This is how it worked for me. I apologize if my description was too basic or confusing. Alan Barton
