No Audio Problem - Lex Dudes Please Respond
Posted by Phil Olson [IP: 198.137.183.222] on July 28, 1999 at 01:28:13 High Gang! I have had the infamous "No Audio" problem that has been discussed here in the past few weeks. The following is my understanding of the current status. There is no known cause and therefor no cure for this anomaly. A supplier to Lexicon has a suggestion that they think MAY eliminate the problem. Contacting Lexicon will get you an "Return Authorization". The warrantee repair people have, in the past, mistakenly claimed that the proposed fix is the real fix. They now know that it is only a POSSIBLE fix. Is my understanding correct? I have an RA number for my unit but I am VERY reluctant to send it back just to get a POSSIBLE fix. Now for my real questions. Since this is a manufacturing defect, should it not be covered indefinitely? In other words, is there a limit on how long I can wait befor I have to send it in for a fix? Obviously, when Lexicon announces an official fix, I will send it in immediately. I just don't want to keep sending it back, (while loosing 2+ weeks of listening nirvanna!), only to find that the current proposal is not really effective. To those who have sent your unit in for this fix, has it truely solved the problem? Have you not had a single instance since it has been returned? Inquiring minds want to know! Any thoughts? Phil
