Using Mozilla/4.08 [en] (Win95; I):

Thanks again Alan, but it appears that what I have is more of a metal lined "slot" or open box than a hole. Is that a correct description, or do you literally see a round hole where the wire is inserted?

I will look more closely at my manual tonight, but something just does not seem right about what I see.
