Christoph, I don't use an LDD-1, but a Meridian 819. One of the weird quirks with my Meridian demodulator is that it wants both a standard digital and an RF signal to both be present. If both cables are not connected the device will not work without opening it up and changing a jumper setting. Weird, but this is how my manual states it is supposed to work. Anyway, my point/question is whether the LDD-1 might have a similar quirk.

BTW, I ran into this when a friend brought his LD player over, and I only hooked up the AC-3 connection for a temporary setup. The Meridian, Pioneer 704 combination without RF signal would not play anything until we hooked up both cables.

Anyway just a thought for you. Hopefully, between the manual and customer service you won't be out long.
