Question about Bass Enhancement and LFE

Using Mozilla/4.5 [en] (Win95; I):

Hi everybody!

I am anticipating my purchase of a second hand Lexicon DC-1 (version 3.1, with DTS) from a friend and using this with 6 B&W Nautilus 805's, a Nautilus HTM2 center speaker and two REL Q200E to be placed at the sides of the listening spot (underneath the side speakers) for proper bass enhancement.

I was thinking of running my sides full range, with the REL Q200E's driven in parallel with the sides, and the crossover of the REL set at about 40-50 Hz. The other speakers are going to be configured as small.

My question is this: do you also have to route all the LFE to the side speakers and set subwoofer to OFF? Or isn't this part of Bass Enhancement? I was planning to split the subwoofer output with an Y-connector and use the unfiltered low-level inputs on both REL's for LFE only. In this way, the 805's won't be overdriven by too much bass.

Does anyone have comments on this configuration? I am not familiar with all the settings of the DC-1, as I don't own it yet. I am just thinking in advance to make sure I make the best possible choices.

Thanks a lot!
