DC-2 vs. DC-1 v3.1

The internal architecture of the DC-2 is closer to the MC-1 than to the DC-1, so it will sound better. In addition, it has more I/O options if that matters to you.

On the other hand, a used DC-1 is one of the best deals in audio today.

If you're a two-channel purist, the DC-2 is a better bet. Some folks integrate their surround processors with two channel gear that has a unity gain pass-through for the surround front channels. Depends how much you want to spend.

As I said before, I'd spend some time listening to these products and go from there.
