I am of the opinion that ABX testing with respect to audio is severely handicapped by the presence of the human brain -- an extremely accurate and at the same time fickle instrument that is dubious in it's ABX-ability at best. The elimination of this piece in the chain would greatly facilitate the science of audio engineering.

One thing the brain does know well, however, is when something is *not* right, which is pretty much the case with all audio, perfection being a few AU away at best.

I think the adage about economists and their opinions holds true with audiophiles: Ask three audiophiles which of two speakers they like best and you'll get 10 answers (three being on another subject).
