Bass Enhance Test

Posted by Rick Tanzella [IP: 207.12.20.210] on August 24, 1999 at 23:53:34
Using Mozilla/4.61 [en] (Win95; I):

At the suggestion of several on the Forum, I moved my 2 LFE subs to the side positions to decide if I want to invest in 2 small side subs. Both, a BagEnd Infra18 and Velo F1500 have internal high pass filters. DC1 configuration: sub output off/center to 120hz/sides large dipole/fronts & rears small 40hz/bass enhance on.

My question is I am not totally sure on hook-up and I have a question on the side sub positions.

Hook-up: I came out of the Lex DC1 Left side to the LINE IN on the BagEnd sub then LINE OUT of the sub to the left side input for corresponding amp. DC1 Right side to LINE IN on Velo then back to Right side amp. Is this correct?

Position: These are big subs and do not fit directly to the sides of the listening area-no room. I have them behind the listening area which is approx 5 ft from rear wall. My front wall is approx 15 ft from listening area. Do you think the subs should be forward or behind the listening area?

Preliminary listening sounds awesome. These subs are big and heavy to simply move around so any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks all
Rick
