Darrin Running subs on the sides is the optimal configuration for Bass Enhance. Bass Enhance will only help you if you position your speakers and subs directly to the sides of the listening position (one sub on each side). and cross them over from the side outputs on the Lex with an external crossover, setting the Lex sub configuration to "None," sides to "Large" and all other speakers to "Small." This way, LFE will also go to your side subs. However, if your surrounds are in the rear rather than to the sides Bass Enhance won't do much for you, and you're better off with a more conventional sub configuration. If you're not running side/Bass Enhance configuration, I'd run one or both your subs directly off the sub out on the DC-1. This gives you the most flexibility (you can set sub level separately on a per-effect basis) and eliminates the phase and crossover issues with using external crossovers, since everything is done correctly in the digital domain. Running the subs off your fronts is the poorest choice, as it gives you the fewest options. Cheers, Philip Brandes
