I agree entirely with Philip's suggestion, for precisely the same reasoning. I don't give a rat's south end what the current volume level number is at when my ears are telling me that it's got to go up or down. So hitting the volume button means I want it to change. Whereas, with the effects, very often I want to check on which mode I'm in. Sorry for being redundant.
