The remote effect keys simply select the default mode per effect, so the Dolby key engages Pro-logic with a PCM or analogue input and Dolby Digital with a
suitable input. You can't change that key to load, say, Panorama.:

Yes, As Phillip surmised, I have pre v3 software. With this version, I set the dc-1 keys (the ACCY+ whatever buttons) to the effects I use most often. I then
programmed my RC2000 so they became one button functions. So I do have the 8 effects I use most often programmed to 8 separate buttons. These include
panorama, music logic and nightclub.
I gather I'm not going to able to do that with the MC-1. If true, that is certainly a feature reduction from my point of view.
