I'm sorry, I called you Ken too, it comes because we have another regular visitor who is called Ken and whose surname begins with an "H" - he signs "kenh". No more confusion, I promise. :-)

As has been mentioned, the old remote simply sent eight IR commands, it was the DC-1 that remembered which mode to associate with them. The good news with the MC-1 and v3 for the DC-1 is that all effects can be directly accessed through shift commands so teaching another remote is easy. If however you're hell bent on using the supplied remote (that's me folks) it takes some time to learn all the shift combinations…
