How important is build quality?

I'll agree about the Monster Cable test. When I play around with the cables on the Lexicon, I make sure to twist the cables on and off as opposed to shoving them in or pulling them out. I guess I can see the argument of why I shouldn't have to do this on something that costs $4500 (for the DC-1). I'll admit that I do like the feeling on my Sunfire amp that I can do whatever I want with the cables and not worry about damaging the unit.

Personally, I don't mind the look of the DC-1. That probably explains why my wife does the interior decorating. :)
