How important is build quality?

Don't you know products with a 3" thick brushed aluminum front face plate sound better??? Heck, I've read that one audio company selects the faceplate color of their product depending upon the reviewer it was going to be sent to. I've been told that a speaker company that sounds like 'nose' glues a brick into the bottom of the 'sub' section in the sub/sat system.

I listen to the circuitry/software (where the MC-1 excels in quality) of the Lexicon... not it's housing or what it weighs on a scale. Assuming the chassis offers suitable RF rejection it shouldn't matter if it's 1/8" or 3" thick.
