How important is build quality?

I have a buddy that is friends with the guy that started Boyd wheels. From what he has told me, they (Boyd) stamp their wheels out of pure aluminum billets that are between 1”-4” thick, and the machine can be set to different pounds per square inch settings so that it can stamp different thickness. (thirteen million PSI is the highest setting) Now, it would seem to me that these machines would be similar to those that stamp the metal sheets that form the case around the Lex, Krell, etc units. So, that is what I meant in that it cannot be that hard to just use a thicker gage steel for the other models.

This of coarse would cost more, but shure as heck does not justify the thousands upon thousands more those other manufacturers charge.
