If it's got to be either/or, then I like it the way it is now, for both volume and effects scrolling, because I like seeing the current settings as a point of reference before making changes. Of course, the suggestion about menu control of these options is the best idea.

I do, however, particularly like Robert Bienstock's suggestion regarding altering the volume control behavior for repeating actions within a specified time. Currently you have about 2 seconds or so for the Lexicon to "remember" that you've already pressed the volume control once, but often it would be better if that threshold was increased to a little more forgiving number, say 15 to 30 seconds, so that a user could make less hectic and more gradual adjustments. I wouldn't change the current time increments of how the OSD shows the volume bar and then the status before blanking out, though.
