I spent Friday night setting up the MC-1 that I received to replace the defective unit. After hooking everything up, I went to the menu to set my output levels.
As the sound is cycling around and it gets to the right speaker, I notice it does not sound right. I go over to the speaker and find the tweeter is dead. This is a brand new set of B&W 803s.
I then cycle it the rest of the way around and find my right side speaker has a blown tweeter and the right rear has no sound at all. Now when the original failure of the MC-1 started the right rear channel had dropped out. After opening the amp, I find a blown fuse. For some reason two speaker and one amp channel all on the right side was fried or blown. The speaker dealer has taken care of the speakers, thank God and I replaced the fuse in the amp.
I am not pointing fingers in any direction but I do find it odd that all my troubles started after I put the defective MC-1 into my system.
Now on a happy note I now realize the original MC-1 as good as it seemed was ill from the beginning. This new one is just awesome sounding. Even with the trails and tribulations, I have been through with this, I am more than pleased with the quality of sound the MC-1 has. It is more than a small step up from the DC-1 and that includes movie listening also.Ron H
