Agreed! Buuuuuuuuuut, Art may have a hard time finding a player that DOESN'T output a DTS bitstream. Seems everything from high end players to the el cheapo models are DTS (DVD) compatible; even the itty bitty Panasonic 'Palm Theater'.

While I own (and really enjoy) some of their laserdiscs & music discs, the future doesn't look too bright for DTS; especially in the DVD & DSS venues. And HDTV.....well, let's not even go there!

However, I've got to hand it to their marketing department; they've somehow managed to get hardware manufacturers to do a better job of promoting DTS than they themselves are! Shame they didn't do the same number on movie studios & record labels.

I hope I'm wrong about DTS's future. With this much hardware in place (both, players & processors) it would be nice to have a flood of software instead of the current trickle.
