AVIA and DC-1

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; MSN 2.5; Windows 95; Juno):

What is the proper configuration of the Lex for use with the audio calibration signals on the AVIA disc? With the DC-1 set to adjust speaker outputs with an external test signal, everything seemed ok until I got to the sides: both left and right were active when the AVIA menu was set to EITHER left OR right. I am most interested in getting a smooth blend with my side woofers to use with bass enhance. I seem to remember Philip suggesting temporarily plugging the side amps into the front outputs for this purpose. Is that right? Details, please. Thanks in advance.
