DTS Fan option and DC-2?

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows 98; Compaq; DigExt):

Can you use the DTS fan option with a DC-2(with DTS). I am relatively new to Lexicon and I was wondering how many of you out there have this fan? Is it necessary for proper cooling? Is the fan loud?

I have seperate shelf with about 1.5" clearance in a closed case. My unit runs warm to the touch. Am I a canidate for this option?
