True, but you can still use an external 5.1 calibration test like in AVIA or VE to calibrate the Lexicon. Just perform the calibration with sides on and rears off and vice versa. After you've done the surrounds individually, turn both sets back on and see if tracks with all seven channels. I have found that I get slightly different calibration results with AVIA/VE as compared to Lexicon's internal tones. Subjectively, I find the results I obtain from AVIA/VE more pleasing. I have found this to be the case in two different rooms.
