EX confusion

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows 98; DigExt):

I thought I had at least a vague understanding of this stuff until I got on another forum, the home theater section of the Remotecentral site, and received a bunch of information that was not at all what I had believed. Please help me, learned ones.

I thought the rear channel would not be "discreet" but would be derived from the side speaker output from information matrixed into their signal as in prologic. The strength of the system would lie in the intentional matrixing of rear info. I also thoght that the early and easy transformation of the Lexicon products is due to the software only implimentation of the EX modification.

If the contributors to the Remotecentral home theater forum was correct in assuming a true 6.1 discreet system would that not involve a different storage on the DVD (6.1 DD) and another D to A converter for my MC-1?

Please help me clear this thing up.
