Lexicon: why no crossovers at 10 Hz Interval?

But, M&K recommends that the sub be crossed over about 10hz above the satellite's low flat frequency. ie there should be a 10hz overlap. They say to start there then adjust by ear. Chuck has a pretty good explanation of octaves in his post. One explanation for M&K's recommendation is that they are matching their own subs to their own satellites, and the crossovers were designed to be used that way. My suggestion for using the Lexicon crossovers is for combining an arbitrary sub with an arbitrary speaker. As with anything else audio, people should experiment to find the best settings, and take what I say with a grain of salt. --Andre
