How to prevent a fire

If you are in the basement, it may mean using surface mount conduits and boxes. I might cost a few hundred bucks to protect you, your family, and your investment. Anything less is just not worth the risk. Extension cords, especially long ones are never a good idea. Over time they are subject to wear and tear that can result in a catastrophe.
