Is it worth it to upgrade DC-1 to V3.1 now?

Yes, I believe v3.10 is worth it. The Bass Enhance feature in my opinion is a totally new, enjoyable and enveloping design. I believe Lexicon is on to something here. Although it will cost you more than the upgrade. You will need full range side speakers or as many of us have done, used our existing di/bi-pole speakers with 2 small subs. If you have already invested in side speakers, the 2 subs is probably a more economical method, placement is alot easier too. You will need some sort of high pass crossover for your sides as you must configure the DC1 to side speakers large.

See the postings for bass enhance test for much good advise on setup and speaker placement.

Re the Dolby EX, I believe Lexicon has commited to upgrading the DC1 to EX capabilities in the future. As far as know, as of yet there is no EX software anyway so probably no hurry to upgrade. Sounds like another DTS debacle. Many of us rushed to upgrade and there is still very little DTS software.
