Rick, the Aerial SR3's are wonderful side speakers. They have the option of going either Bi-pole or Di-pole switchable either at the speaker or remotely if you wire it up that way. They also have some other adjustments for positioning in the room(close to the back wall, etc) that allow you to dial them in a little better. They go pretty low for wall mounted surrounds (@50Hz), although configured with subs as now, this is less important. As for the price, I chose them because I already had the Aerial 10T's and was putting together the surround setup. I wanted a good timbral match to the other Aerial's. They are quite expensive so it kind of depends on what you are mating them with. I have not tried other surrounds in my setup, so I cannot say if the MK tripoles e.g. are better or worse, etc. This is one of those product categories that is tough to audition. I am quite happy with the SR3's and feel no need to experiment with others. (Unlike my subwoofer expedition, which has encompassed a dozen or so subs.)

Bruce
