CEDIA workshop notes...

Posted by Irv Kelman [IP: 209.153.8.75] on September 26, 1999 at 13:23:45
Using Mozilla/4.61 [en] (Win98; I):

At his CEDIA workshop, I asked Tom Holman about the similar sub placements in his 10.2 multi channel experiment and Lexicon's new Bass Enhance mode. He indicated that it is not coincidental. He is familiar with Dr. Griesinger's work but not up on Lexicon's implementation.

When I mentioned "Bass Enhance's" recommended crossover points, he grimaced. He surmised that might be to
accommodate systems with full range mains. He said he would learn more about Lexicon's Bass Enhance and perhaps do an article in Surround Professional.

Tom's Multi Channel workshop Saturday morning was excellent.

BTW, his 10.2 setup uses dipole and direct surrounds depending on the sound track. He re-confirmed his preference for Dipole surrounds for home theater applications.
