Dan,

I had this problem when playing DTS Laserdisc's on my DC-1 v3.1 unit and it was driving me crazy.
The problem seems to be when the DC-1 tries to "automatically" sense what format the incoming digital signal is.

I setup an unused input on the DC-1 and labeled it "Laser-2" and used the input configuration to set the "Audio-in" as "DTS ONLY"
That way when the LD player is paused or chapters are selected, the DC-1 won't attempt to find another signal and produce the dreaded "Fzztt" sound.

It works great.

Try it,
Shawn
