How to avoid the EX upgrade cost

Using Mozilla/4.5 [en] (Win95; I):

Just don't buy it...at least for a while.

I don't understand the logic of upgrading an MC-1 to EX when the only available movie is Austin Powers. It was funny, not as funny as the first one, and certainly not enough to cause me to rush out and spend another $300.

How many months will it take before there are sufficient titles available to make an EX upgrade worthwhile? Heck, even if a new movie hit the theaters today, it will be at least 6 months before it can be bought/rented. During that time Lexicon will be implementing whatever tweaks that come along.

I also wonder if EX will provide any improvement over the already great Logic 7. It is different. But is EX better? I bet Austin Powers through Lexicon's implementation of EX will be barely distinguishable from the same movie played through Logic 7.

My upgrade strategy is to review what is available about once a year and then decide if the upgrade is worth the money and effort.
