"Surely Lexicon can come with an easier way to upgrade"

Some time ago I suggested using reprogrammable ROMs that can be flash upgraded through the RS 232 port. Lexicon could distribute the new code on CD-ROMS sent to owners via mail. Anyone with a laptop could upgrade the code themselves without having to disconnect anything.

Another way to do it could be a card slot on the back of the MC-1. The Lexicon distributes a "smart card" to owners. Insert the card and upgrade the ROM.

Buzz (remember Buzz?) stated security concerns as a reason why this can't be done.

If Lexicon could work through the code security problems, it would make life easier for customers and might provide a competitive advantage.

Just a suggestion.
