Thanks you for responding, it IS greatly appreciated. Naturally I disagree that it is not worth the effort. I use nightclub for almost every jazz recording I own. Music surround just does not give the same effect. I would like to use nightclub for music channels from DSS, but they are 48KHz. Others have asked for mono-logic. I would also like to have Party mode, so I could use DSS music channels for parties. In terms of DSP horsepower, the DC-1 came out over 2 years ago. Using Moore's law, DSP power has more than doubled in that time frame. Going from 44.1 sampling to 48 sampling is less than a 9 percent increase. Surely there is enough horsepower in the MC-1 now. Also, re-coding the algorithms to be 9 percent more effcient even if there was no additional horsepower is probably quite do-able. I have coded real time audio algorithms in DSPs in the past, so I am not talking completely beyond my real world experience. I understand it is real effort to re-code these algorithms, and with a limited R&D budget, Lexicon has to prioritise their resources. I can suggest two solutions. One is to put in a sample rate converter (either in an expansion product or the next gen to the MC-1). These are not that costly, and would elimnate the need to rewrite "old" algortihms. The other is to convert the "old" algorithms slowly, one at a time when an engineer has some slack time. Forgive me for offering unsolicited advice on how to do a project, I manage an R&D group for a living and can't help myself. My DSP programming skills are kind of rusty, but I'll volunteer to re-write the PARTY algorithm in my spare time if Lex will rewrite the others :-) Well, thanks again for listening to your customers. - Kent H
