You are correct that dts software is limited in comparison to Dolby Digital, but I've been very pleased with every dts disc (LD, DVD, CD) that I've listened to. Actually more than pleased - some discs are just simply awesome! Most DVD players sold today have dts outputs anyway, so I say go for it - you won't be disappointed.
