Pioneer Elite M-72 worth the effort?

Posted by Jim Haggerty [IP: 167.107.237.81] on October 27, 1998 at 12:00:07:

I have the Elite VSX-07TX and want to put outdoor speakers over the hot-tub using the Multi-Room & Source feature of the 07TX. I have the MR-100 remote sensor in place and slapped two Optimus outdoor speakers under the eaves (temporarily as I save up for the Niles OS/20's). My question is this: The Multi-Room audio signal requires external amplification. Pioneer offers the Elite M-72 for the purpose, but the best price I've found is $814 from Prestige Elecronics in Santa Ana, CA. Does anyone have any experience with the 07TX and/or the M-72? I've thought about going with two Marantz monoblock amps just to get the sound going, but I don't want buyer's remorse later if I discover the M-72 has features that compliment the 07TX Multi-Room.

I want to make a decision soon, so whatever you have to offer I'm listening...

Thanks!
Jim
