That's interesting because I have the Panasonic DVD-A310 (which is for all practical purposes, the same as the Yamaha DVD-700, because Panasonics parent company, makes the mechanism for the Yamaha) and I have had no problems playing back DTS CD's (Steely Dan's Gaucho) with the Yamaha DSP-A1...Mitch
