DSP-A1 speaker phase problem??? I realize I may have given too little information. First, I have Polk's all around (7-speakers). I have just replaced my Yamaha RX-V890 with the DSP-A1, so the manufacturers of all equipment involved are the same (and so is the placement). When connected to my old Yamaha, speaker phase was perfect and the imagining was spectacular (even on very difficult half-left and half-right frequency sweeps). Now, using connections clearly described in the manual (the same for both units), I get speakers out of phase. Even when I switch a connection to one of the speakers, I get imagining that is all over the place. Imagining meanders from dead center to right and left pull on frequency sweeps. I thought imaging was solely a speaker characteristic, not a function of amp...is this correct? If so, perhaps my speakers have not been put exactly back to where there were when the old receiver was being used, but it is so close that I cannot tell the difference just by looking at them. I will try the battery test for grins.
