Well folks I haven't looked at this forum in about 7 months [exactly the time I "finally" received the "747"]. Getting ready to purchase an Onkyo DVD player, I called Onkyo for some literature [on their second generation player]. Whoever sent the info, sent me a "sheet" on the "new" Tx ds-656. Immediate hostility!!!!!!! The shelf life of my receiver lasted 7 months;all the features that I had searched for[equal power & 5.1 inputs]were now available & cheaper!!!!!! I "complained" to onkyo,they blamed the retailer,he said his "hands were tied". There's a happy ending to this long story: after scrolling this forum tonight, I'm happy with what I got!!!, I think??? I can add an amplifier for equal power on the rear speakers [if I need it!!] & I don't think DTS is going to survive. My only problems are MLP & the volume display from the remote "jitters". It's good to read excellent material again. THANKS MUCHLY.
