Trust me, the SA-10 is only for theatrical installations. There isn't actually anything fancy about it though, in principal it's simply a Dolby 3 stereo decoder.

I didn't mean to sound curt when I said that Dolby Digital Surround -EX was old news, I've just heard a great deal about it recently and my tolerance level is low. Not helped by the amount of misleading information which is around, so I should've at least congratulated you for reading about the format from an official source (THX) rather than listening to "junk your old gear" rumour. ;-)
