Circuit has the AVR 35 and 45, and the 65 is in their system... They're expecting at least a month til it's available. I HATE WAITING!

But anyway, I've been so close to buying a TXDS656 for a few weeks, but I think the AVR65 is simply better! And of course, HK products look so much better! (And the remote! Finally!)

PRICE UPDATE- If you haven't read, OneCall is doing $769, Shop4 is doing $756. I have friends who work at C.C. so I'm hoping to possibly find a sub$700 price (maybe sub$600!)

Anyway, I'm a DIVX fan as I don't have a huge movie collection but rent VHS a lot. HK will have their DIVX out next year. I'm running to CC to buy the Proscan with the service plan. If (when) 3 things go wrong they give you your money back in a credit to buy a new one. A good deal in my eyes for only $49.99.

: : : I've heard a lot about this beauty. Prices at retail are expected to be $999, an average price IMHO.

: : : I'm looking for any places on the web that might have this for less. If you have heard of any, please reply!

: : : Also- has anyone heard anything bad about it? I haven't but I'm always up to learning!

: : I got a price from OneCall (onecall@onecall.com) for $769.44 (due in November) including FedExEconomy second day shipping.Happy Medium web site (www.happymedium.comm/home.htm) has some information on the receiver.

: Thanks for the information Jose!
: I have been waiting for H/K to get their act together for some time now with a new affordable and correctly "featured" AVR. I have an AVR 70 and I love it. If the AVR 65 has the same sound quality plus DD and DTS and DD Ready inputs and DPL and pre-amp outs like the marketing sheets claim, it is going to be an absolute steal at $800 to $1000. I can't wait til Christmas (sad to hear that from a grown man, but even we still have our toys, right?)

: You can get H/K to send you more technical information directly simply by calling their customer service @
: (800) 336-4525. I called them and they sent me some glossys on both the AVR-45 and the AVR-65. They give all the important specs, but they're not the real goods as far as technical manuals go. The web page is not very helpful at this time, since the product isn't even on the shelves at Circuit City yet.

: good luck in being patient for this one!
: Pete
